So, it would seem there are two different types of USB connector. Who knew? Well, I did, but still bought a Type A - Type A cable without being sure it's the one I need. It's not, obviously.

Anyway, to cheer myself up, here's the funniest thing I've read for a good while. It comes from Doctor Who Magazine's 'Fact of Fiction' article about Revelation of the Daleks:

"When [producer John] Nathan-Turner heard that Gawn Grainger, who'd played George Stephenson in The Mark of the Rani (1985), knew Lord Olivier (1907-1989, arguably the greatest actor who ever lived), he asked if Lord Larry would care to play the role of the Mutant. Again: he asked the foremost interpreter of the language of Shakespeare, if at the age of 78, he'd care to travel to a Godforsaken spot somewhere in Hampshire, in January, with his face all covered in flaky gunk, and grapple with Colin Baker."

And this is why Doctor Who is the best TV series ever. Any questions?

I could have told you that Gawn Grainger knew Olivier. I think they were even in the same productions at the Old Vic, but Olivier would be playing the lead, and Grainger is usually Fifth Nod With Spear. Even when Olivier just ran the joint as a patron, Grainger usually got eclipsed by, say, John Neville.
Robert Hardy played Ariel, Prospero's Sprite. I think it was his first stage role. Just picture Robert Hardy in a blue leotard being an air-fairy.
